When to use Yesoma vs ChatGPT + Gmail

An honest comparison: when the DIY combo is enough, and where it starts costing you bookings (every channel, business memory, follow-ups, team, quotes).

A fair question before you pay for anything: why not just use ChatGPT to write replies and Gmail to send them? For some people, that combo is genuinely fine. This is an honest look at when the do-it-yourself route works and where it starts to cost you customers.

When ChatGPT + Gmail is enough

If you get only a handful of inquiries a week, they all come through one email address, you are a team of one, and you are happy copy-pasting between two tabs, the DIY combo can absolutely work. There is no shame in starting there. Yesoma is for when that starts to break.

Where the DIY combo breaks down

  • Messages come from everywhere. Real customers reach you on email, WhatsApp, website forms, Instagram. Gmail only sees the email ones. The WhatsApp "hi, are you free Saturday?" gets lost because it never lands in one place.
  • ChatGPT has no memory of your business. Every time, you re-paste your prices, your policies, the customer's history. Yesoma's Business Brain already knows them, so replies are accurate without the re-paste, and it flags when you haven't given it a price yet.
  • Nothing follows up. A quote goes quiet and it stays quiet, because remembering to nudge is on you. Yesoma chases stalled quotes automatically (politely, and only a few times).
  • No shared inbox for a team. The moment a second person helps, Gmail + ChatGPT has no concept of "who's handling this," assignments, or reviewing a reply before it sends.
  • No structure for money. ChatGPT can draft a quote as text, but it can't turn it into an itemized quote with your deposit and payment instructions, track acceptance, or mark it paid.
  • You're the glue. Copy, paste, switch tabs, remember context, remember to follow up. That manual work is exactly what slips on a busy day, and slips are lost bookings.

The honest summary

ChatGPT is a great writer with no memory of your business and no inbox. Gmail is a great inbox for one channel with no AI and no follow-through. Yesoma is the thing in the middle: every channel in one place, an AI that actually knows your business, automatic follow-ups, quotes and payments, and a team-ready desk. If you are losing even one booking a week to a missed or slow reply, it pays for itself.
