Communication permissions and consent receipts

See who agreed to email, calls, text messages, or WhatsApp, review the exact permission and timestamp, download evidence, and revoke one channel without changing the others.

Communication permission is evidence that a person agreed to a specific kind of contact for a specific purpose. A saved email address or phone number is contact data—it is not permission by itself.

Yesoma keeps these choices separate so your team can answer four important questions: who agreed, what they agreed to, when they agreed, and which address or number the permission covers.

Open the communication-permissions register

Go to Customers → Communication permissions. Workspace Owners, Admins, and Managers can open the register. Agents and Viewers cannot access it.

Use search to find a Contact by name, email address, or phone number. You can also filter by:

  • Channel: email, phone call, text message, or WhatsApp
  • Purpose: Yesoma guidance and product updates, or scorecard and requested-review follow-up
  • Status: active, revoked, or suppressed

The register is an evidence view. A row does not send a message, enroll someone in an automation, or prove permission for a different purpose.

How Yesoma records a scorecard submission

When a person requests their detailed Customer Follow-Up Scorecard, Yesoma saves the form submission and each selected permission as separate records. The permission checkboxes are independent.

For example, if someone agrees to both text messages and WhatsApp contact, Yesoma creates:

  1. One text-message permission for scorecard or requested-review follow-up
  2. One WhatsApp permission for scorecard or requested-review follow-up

Declining email marketing does not cancel either of those permissions. Agreeing to email marketing does not create permission to call, text, or use WhatsApp.

Yesoma records the exact permission wording, destination email or phone number, source, form version, privacy version, supporting form evidence, and a server-generated date and time. The interface displays time in your workspace timezone. The downloadable receipt also includes the authoritative UTC time.

Review permission on a Contact

Open Customers, select a Contact, and choose the Consent tab. The Communication permissions card appears below the customer-service messaging consent section for Workspace Owners, Admins, and Managers.

Each permission shows:

  • Channel and purpose
  • Email address or phone number covered
  • Active or revoked status
  • Recorded date and time
  • Form source and version
  • Exact permission wording
  • A downloadable Yesoma-branded PDF receipt

This history is intentionally separate from positive SMS or WhatsApp consent used for ordinary customer-service messaging. Permission to discuss a requested scorecard review does not automatically authorize unrelated promotional campaigns or routine service messages.

Select Receipt beside a permission. Yesoma creates a branded PDF from the retained submission evidence. The receipt identifies the Contact, submission, source, recorded timestamps, and every permission selected on that form.

Keep the receipt with your compliance records when required by your policies or local law. The receipt is evidence of the recorded choice; it is not legal advice and does not expand the permission beyond its stated channel and purpose.

Revoke one permission

Workspace Owners and Admins can revoke an active permission from the Contact's Consent tab. Choose Revoke, record the reason, and confirm.

Revocation changes only that exact channel, purpose, and address. For example, revoking WhatsApp permission does not revoke email marketing or text-message permission. Managers can inspect permission records and receipts but cannot revoke them.

Yesoma retains the original grant and records the revocation time and reason. It does not rewrite or erase the historical evidence.

Customer-wide do-not-contact

A Contact's do-not-contact setting takes priority over an active permission. When do-not-contact is enabled, the register marks retained active evidence as Suppressed. Your team should not send communication while that suppression remains in place.

The evidence stays visible so the record is auditable. Removing a do-not-contact setting should be a deliberate operational decision and does not create any new permission.

What Yesoma does not infer

Yesoma does not turn an old subscriber record, a saved phone number, a previous conversation, or silence into permission. Historical choices are not backfilled unless there is defensible evidence for the exact channel, purpose, address, and wording.

If you do not have that evidence, ask the person to make a fresh, clear choice.

Common questions

Does one checkbox cover text messages and WhatsApp?

No. They are separate channels and must be selected and recorded separately.

Can a Manager download a receipt?

Yes. Managers can inspect the register, Contact history, and evidence receipts. Only Workspace Owners and Admins can revoke a permission.

Does recording permission make Yesoma send marketing automatically?

No. The register records evidence. Sending, campaigns, and automations are separate product actions and must respect the exact permission and any do-not-contact suppression.

What if the Contact changes their mind?

Record the withdrawal promptly against the exact permission. If the person requests no further contact at all, also enable the customer-wide do-not-contact setting.
