This policy covers all Yesoma messaging channels — SMS, WhatsApp, and other connected channels as they become available. It is in addition to our WhatsApp Use Policy, which governs WhatsApp-specific requirements. This is not legal advice; you are responsible for your own compliance.
1. Consent + opt-in
Only message people who have contacted you, opted in, or have an active customer relationship with your business. Do not buy, scrape, or upload lists of people who have not agreed to hear from you. Keep records of how and when consent was obtained.
2. Opt-out + honoring STOP
Always honor opt-out requests promptly. For SMS, support standard keywords (e.g. STOP) and stop messaging a recipient who opts out. Make it easy for customers to tell you to stop, by any reasonable means.
3. Prohibited use
- Spam, bulk unsolicited messages, or unsolicited marketing campaigns.
- Scams, phishing, deceptive, or fraudulent messages.
- Prohibited or regulated goods/services where not permitted.
- Harassment, hate, threats, or illegal content.
- Collecting passwords, one-time login codes, or full payment card details.
4. Your responsibility
You are solely responsible for the messages you send through Yesoma, the people you send them to, and the consent you obtained. If a third party makes a claim against Yesoma because of your messages, you agree to cover the resulting costs and hold Yesoma harmless.
5. Country-specific rules
Messaging laws vary by country (for example TCPA in the US, CASL in Canada, PECR/GDPR in the UK/EU, and local rules elsewhere). You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you and to the people you message.
6. Suspension + enforcement
Yesoma may suspend or disable a workspace’s messaging channels — with or without notice — for suspected misuse, policy violations, high failure or block rates, or risk to the underlying platforms. We may cooperate with platform providers and authorities where required.
7. WhatsApp specifics
WhatsApp adds its own requirements — including the 24-hour customer-service window, pre-approved message templates for proactive messages, and consent record-keeping. See the WhatsApp Use Policy for the full details, which continue to apply to WhatsApp.
